NASHVILLE - DeWilda Womble Joyner, age 94, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born in Nash County on February 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Biscoe Womble and Lucille Moore Womble. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton F. Joyner; her son, Van Curtis Joyner; her sister, Martha Ann Waters; and her brother, Curtis Keith Womble.

She is survived by her her daughter, Jamie Lynn Moss and husband, Mike, of Nashville; her son, Craig Joyner, and partner Sheryl Sessoms, of Westfield; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Gwen Womble.

A graveside service was held January 6, 2026 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Trey Sanderson officiating.
