ROCKY MOUNT - Williard “Sweet Thing” Powell, 79, died Friday, February 20, 2009.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Swift Creek Baptist Church with Rev. O.D. Sykes officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

Visitation was Friday, February 27, 2009 from 2 - 5 p.m. at Hunter-Odom Funeral Service.
