Frances Bass Shearin, 83, passed away December 13, 2025 in Rocky Mount. Frances was born in Spring Hope on July 18, 1942 to Simon and Annie Bass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Shearin; siblings, Hubert Parker, Simon Bass, RL Bass, Luther Bass, Tempie Lewis, Joe Bass, Lucille Boykin, Judy Turner, and Mildred Wester.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Tess Johnson of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren; brother Sam Bass (Ruth) of Ontario, Canada; one niece; five great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Dees and Rev. Henry Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
