ROCKY MOUNT- Funeral services for Ruby Alston, age 95, who died on Friday, October 17, 2025 will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. from the St. John Baptist Church in Red Oak with Pastor Dr. Leon Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Maryland National Cemetery in Laurel, MD.

She is survived by six daughters, Shirley Alston-Jones of the home, Juanita Hilliard of Castalia, Patricia Perry of Germantown, MD, Pamela Turner of Capitol Heights, MD, Norma Alston of Laurel, MD, Kimberly Burns of Washington, DC; one son, Lester Spivey (Gloria) of Rocky Mount; nineteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing Saturday from 12-1p.m. at St. John Baptist Church.
