NASHVILLE - Funeral services for Rufus Taylor, age 73, who died on Thursday, October 2, 2025, will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1 p.m. from the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville with Rev. Douglas Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Taylor of Rocky Mount; two daughters, Synthia Westry (Marcus) of Nashville and Kimberly Gilliam (Lorenzo) of Newport News, VA; three sons, Rufus Taylor III of Rocky Mount, Davie Lewis (Jessica) of Nashville and Malcolm Wade of Greensboro; three sisters, Loraine Barnes of New Haven, CT, Bernice Marie Hewett (Lois) of Hyattsville, MD and Doris Leonard of Nashville; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville, NC on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 12-1p.m.
