ROCKY MOUNT - Doris Brown Booth, age 103, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. Born in Nash County on February 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Richard Clyde Brown and Mary Pauline Cherry Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aucey Gray Booth, Sr.; her brothers, Horace Brown (twin), Richard Brown, Thomas Brown, Clayton Brown, and Norman Brown; and her grandson, Caleb Allen Booth.

Doris is survived by her son, Aucey "Gray" Booth, Jr. and wife, Joan; a grandson and and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service ife will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Libby M. Grammer, Dr. Jody Wright, and Rev. Elizabeth Edwards officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
