CASTALIA - Funeral services for Joyce R. Scott, age 76, who died on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, were held June 2, 2025 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Refuge Center in Hollister with Pastor Linda Taybron officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Herbert C. Scott of the home; one daughter, Ada M. Scott-Smith (Ira) of Rocky Mount; one son, Jered Scott (Lakesha) of Castalia; three sisters, Sandra R. Peace (Fred) and Ada Williams (Joe), both of Castalia; Carolyn Montague (Willie) of Knightdale; one brother, Michael Richardson, Sr. (Ruth) of Castalia; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
