NASHVILLE - Hassell Quemby Sherrod, age 91, passed away January 25, 2025. He was born July 23, 1933 in Nash County, son of Thomas and Betty Sherrod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Beulah, Curtis, Elgie, Earl, Mabel, Jerrdin.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Fuller Duke Sherrod; daughter, Gail Sherrod Greene (Danny) of Shelby; sons, Hassell Wayne Sherrod (Stephanie Elaine Ennis) of Sharpsburg and Samuel Carl Duke of Rocky Mount and brothers, Wesley Sherrod (Betty) and Oscar Sherrod; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren,
A service with military honors will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Davis-Little Funerals, Rocky Mount. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m.
