ROCKY MOUNT - Odell Manning Coggins, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Born in Edgecombe County on July 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Eli Manning and Emma Leeora Burgess Manning. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gordon McDonald Coggins, Sr.; her son, Stephen Odell Coggins; and her siblings, Elizabeth Lee Manning Hyde, Donnie Earl Manning, Vivian Lucille Manning Bagg, Emma Ruth Manning Morin, Lizzie Mae Manning Joyner, Edith Myrlean Manning Abernethy, and Arthur Ray Manning.

Odell is survived by her sons, Gordon McDonald Coggins, Jr, and wife, Annette, Dennis Ruffin Coggins and wife, Kay; her daughters, Deborah Coggins Gammon and husband, Barry and Barbara Coggins Hicks and husband, Al; her daughter-in-law, Rita Coggins; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Juanita Grace Manning Burnette and Betty Ann Manning Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service was held January 4, 2025, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Rocky Mount with Rev. Les Carpenter and Rev. Daniel Cenci officiating. Burial followed the service at Pineview Cemetery.
