NASHVILLE - Laverne J. Davis, age 82, passed away January 3, 2025. She was born March 9, 1942 in Johnston County to Manley P. and Octiva J. Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Calvin Byrd and husband, Roland Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Byrd Joyner and husband, Russell of Nashville; brother, Dewey Jones and wife, Linda of Selma; two grandchilden; four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
