ROCKY MOUNT - Betty Ruth Tippette Freeman, age 81, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. Born in Halifax County on November 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Elijah Tippette, Sr. and Vallie Ruth Duke Tippette. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robbie Lynn Freeman; her brothers, Johnnie Elijah Tippette, Jr., McDonald Tippette, and Joseph Rabon Tippette; and her sister, Dorothy Lucille Tippette Adams.

Betty is survived by her brother, Bobby Lee Tippette and wife, Betty, of Raleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Jerry Braziel officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
