James William Cooper, 97, passed away June 8, 2024. He was born October 24, 1926 to the late Thomas Jacob Cooper and Martha Benge Cooper. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughters Carolyn Jackson and Barbara C. Anderson; brother Thomas F. Cooper; sisters Betty Wilson, Mary Lou Whitener, Ruby Rachel, Mildred Cooper, Doris Kennedy, Rose Medrick and baby Cooper.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Eula Cooper; sons James C. Cooper, Larry D. Cooper and Gary Carpenter; daughters Jackie Patterson, Lynn Gardner, Jackie Pridgen and Wendy C. Taylor; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. The service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Gary Carpenter, Rev. Daryl Cooper and Rev. CJ Cauble officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
