ROCKY MOUNT - William Ronald Barnes, Sr., 77, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. Born in Wilson on February 12, 1947, he was the middle son of Stella and OJ Barnes.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Barnes Tharrington (Scott); son, Ron Barnes Jr. (Bill); two grandsons; one great-grandson; former wife Pam Jones; brother, Russ Barnes (Martha); and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, older brother, Dennis Barnes and grandson, Spencer Dalton Tharrington. A memorial service was held April 6 at West Haven Presbyterian Church, Rocky Mount.
