Bobby Davis Joyner, age 76, passed away February 24, 2024. Born in Nash County on September 16th, 1947, he was the son of Adolphus Lee Joyner and Lula Carter Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Joyner, George "Pee Wee" Joyner, and Richard Joyner.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Becky Colbert Joyner; children, Bobby Scott Joyner (Rhonda) of Nashville, Bradley Davis Joyner (Brandy) of Nashville, Donna Joyner Mills (Allen) of Rocky Mount, and Matthew Thomas Joyner of Nashville; 9 grandchildren;2 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; his siblings, Margery Wester (Bernice), William Joyner (Liz), Delilah Smith, and Judy Bunn (Mike); sister-in-law, Jean Waters (Charlie) and brother-in-law, John Colbert, Jr (Sheila).

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Allen Mills officiating. Burial will follow at the Wells Family Cemetery on Barnes Hill Church Rd. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday evening, also at the church, and other times at the home.
