ROCKY MOUNT - Jack Neil Simmons, age 90, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Born in Edgecombe County on September 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Mack Daniel Simmons and Daisy Bottoms Simmons. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dickens Simmons; brother, Mack Daniel Simmons Jr.; sisters, Nell Simmons Speight, Jean Simmons Farmer, and Ruth Simmons Cooke.

Jack is survived by his son James Eason (Regina) of Rocky Mount; daughter, Amy Ayscue "Buger" (Kenny) of Louisburg; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Simmons Walston; and brother, Omerl Simmons.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rocky Mount with Pastor Randy Nines officiating. A visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremations Services.
