ROCKY MOUNT - Mildred Carol Rowland Batchelor, age 75, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. Born in Nash County on April 27, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thaxton Rowland, Jr. and Glennie Jessie Barrett Rowland. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Johnnie Mac Batchelor; her brothers, Henry T. Rowland, III, David Rowland, and Irvin Rowland; and her sister, Lilah Ann Gray.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Cassandra "Cass" McLatchy of Rocky Mount and Charlotte "Beth" Winfree and husband, William, of Garner; two grandchildren; her brother, Lawrence Eugene Rowland and wife, Sheiloh; and her sisters, Gerri Taylor and husband, Michael, and Glennie Ainsworth and husband, Jim.

A service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home until 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mildred's memory to a charity of one's choice.
