ROCKY MOUNT - Dorothy Louise Cockrell Farmer, 89, passed away Saturday, January 27. She was the daughter of the late Spencer Jiles Cockrell and Effie Wahlena Bottoms Cockrell. She was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Edward Farmer, and one brother, Gene Cockrell.

She is survived by her son, Rusty Farmer (Ginger B.); three daughters, Dorothy Lynn Bunch, Cheryl Dean Elmore, and Ann Baker; two brothers, Spencer Cockrell, Jr. and Ricky Cockrell; one sister, Donna Matthews; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral was held January 30 at at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Interment followed in Cockrell Cemetery.
