ROCKY MOUNT - Nettie Mae Spain, age 101, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024,. Born in Nash County on April 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Douglas Lamm and Sally Matthews Lamm. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lantis Spain; daughter, Betty Jordan; sisters, Gertrude Skinner, Christine Lucas; and brother, Elmo Lamm.

Nettie is survived by her son, Ronald Spain (Brenda) of Battleboro; daughter Debbie Sullivan (Marshall) of Spring Hope; son-in-law Norman Jordan of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Helon Pitts.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rocky Mount with Pastor Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Parlor of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
