NASHVILLE - Hazel Brantley Strickland, 81, passed Monday, January 12, 2009 in her sleep after an extended illness. She was born July 1, 1927.

She was predeceased by her parents Albert Lee and Bessie Collie Brantley; her husband, George Herman Strickland and her sister, Carolyn Souza.

She is survived by her sister, Eloise Bissette and husband Lawrence of Bailey, Peggy Frazier of Hampstead; brothers-in-law, Robert Strickland of Rocky Mount and James Strickland of Missouri; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family received friends and family from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road. Funeral services followed at 2 pm in the Chapel.
