ROCKY MOUNT - Peggy Williams Butler, age 82, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. Born in Wake County on February 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Edward Bennett Williams and Thelma Eakes Williams. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Liles, Barbara Ray, and Donna Crabtree.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wilson Delano "Pete" Bulter; her sons, Joseph Wilson Butler and wife, Debra, of Winterville and Robert Wesley Butler of Sharpsburg; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at RiverBend Church, 9853 NC 97, Rocky Mount with Pastor Steve Webb and Pastor Ray Barnhill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview. A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service in the Sanctuary of RiverBend Church.
