ROCKY MOUNT - David Jay Dunbar, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. Born in Hyde County on August 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Joseph Curtis Dunbar and Kathaleen Marie Dunbar.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joy Jenkins Dunbar; his daughter, Angel Dunbar Lynn and husband Timmy of Morehead City; his son, David Jay Dunbar Jr. of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday December 16, 2023, from 2-3 p.m.in the Parlor of Johnson Funeral Home.
