NASHVILLE - Joseph "Steve" Steven Evans Sr., 78, passed away October 26, 2023. He was born December 8, 1944 to the late Nead Francis and Evelyn Vaughan Evans. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Earl and Billy Francis Evans; sisters-in-law Margaret Evans and Joanne Baines; father and mother-in-law Asbury and Virginia Baines.

Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Baines Evans; son Joseph Steven Evans Jr. (Lindsey); daughters Ginny Lynn Evans (Brian), Tara Evans Page (David), Nikki Baines Evans; five grandchildren; brother Harold Keith Evans (Ann); brother-in-law Marshall Baines; sister-in-law Clara Evans; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 4 p.m. at the Evans Farms Barn Shelter, 2831 Rose Loop Rd Nashville (intersection of Old Bailey Hwy) with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. Graveside will follow at the Evans Family Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations to UNC Healthcare Nash Foundation-Danny Talbott Cancer Center.
