Jean Stone Burnette, 95, of Nash County passed away Saturday, September 30. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will be held immediately following funeral services at FW Stone Memorial Cemetery in Middlesex. The Reverend Tracy Stone and Reverend Joe Leonard will officiate.

She was born in Nash County, the daughter of the late Dwight W. Stone and Dottie Stone. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Burnette; brothers, Raymond Stone, Rev. Roland Stone, Rev. B. Dee Stone, and J.R. Stone; and sister, Mavis Stone Batts. Jean is survived by one brother, Billy Stone (Nancy) of Bailey; two sisters Lucy Stone and Joan Goodman (Grady) of Middlesex; and several nieces and nephews.
