BATTLEBORO - Blanton "Gene" Jackson, age 95, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. He was born in Vienna, Georgia on August 19, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents, Desmond Blanton Jackson and Sannie Viola Crozier Page; sister, Betty Ann Mitchell; brother, Wayne Davis Page; and son-in-law, Andrew (Andy) McKenzie.

He is Survived by his wife of 26 years, Dorothy Edmondson Jackson; sister, Mary Lee Britt Lee; sons, James Allan Jackson (Chris) and Thomas Elton Jackson (Jayne); daughter, Jeannie Jackson McKenzie; stepson, Robert "Robbie" E. Stokes Jr (Angela); step-daughter, Bonnie Lynn Stokes; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Rocky Mount at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
