GARNER - Wanda Thompson, age 78, passed away September 9, 2023. She was born in Forsyth County December 2, 1944 to Garvey and Mildred Welborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thompson.

She is survived by her daughter, Tara Vester and husband, Rodney of Red Oak; step-son, Scott Thompson of Statesville; and sister, Donna Edwards and husband, Jack of Rural Hall; six grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4544 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
