ROCKY MOUNT - Kathryn Herge Smith, age 79, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. Born in Essex County, NJ on June 3, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Norman Frederick Herge and Marie Harris Herge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Smith; and her sister, Nancy Lou Herge Zduniewicz.

Kathryn is survived by her sister-in-law, Muriel Bronovick and many special close friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount with Rev. Dennis Gregory officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. prior to the service at the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
