Perry "Joe" Bartholomew, 87, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023. He was born December 18, 1935 in Nash County to the late James W. and Egolia Brantley Bartholomew. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Agnes Greene, Ruby Purkerson, Mattie English, Mildred Greene, Nellie Pace, and Vivian Murray; brothers, Vernon and James W. Bartholomew, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Magdalene Sykes Bartholomew; two sons, Michael and Greg Bartholomew; many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4848 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Nashville, NC 27856.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Oakdale Cemetery of Spring Hope with Rev. Frankie Carroll and Rev. Ted Jones officiating. A visitation with family and friends will follow the service.
