BATTLEBORO - Charles "Charlie" Franklin Threatt, Sr., age 79, passed away May 31, 2023. Born in Edgecombe County on September 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank Hope Threatt and Margaret Lila Works Threatt Winters. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 1/2 years, Deliah "Dee" Hooker Threatt; his step-father, Tom Winters; his brother, Stephen Craig Threatt; his sister, Carol Threatt Wallace and her husband, Bob; and his sister-in-law, Donna Berkholder Threatt.

Charlie is survived by his sons, Charles Franklin "Frank" Threatt, Jr. of Tarboro and Daniel "Danny" Hooker Threatt and wife, Robin, of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brothers, Phil Hope Threatt and wife, Laurin of FL and Harry Lee Threatt of Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Billy Webb officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Danny and Robin.
