BAILEY - Brenda Lucas Dawes, 79, passed away May 16, 2023. Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 20 from 10-11 a.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash Street N, Wilson. Reverend Hal Jones and Reverend Reuben Cason will officiate.

Brenda was the daughter of the late Ollie Lucas and Paul Lucas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Faye Lucas Cranford.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Fred Dawes of the home, daughter Sandra Bandy (Jody) of Hendersonville, son Fred Dawes, Jr. (Betsy) of Graham; three grandchildren.
