ROCKY MOUNT - Flora Davis Brinkley, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Born in Nash County on August 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Thomas Davis and Eula Morris Williams Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William "Billy" Thomas Brinkley, Jr.; her brothers, Pastor Alvin Ray Davis (Jackie), William Thomas "Bill" Davis (Viola), and James Russell Davis (Nancy); her sisters, Betty Davis (Bobby) and Shirley Jean Davis Flood (Ronnie); and her great-grandson, Adler Chilton.

Flora is survived by her son, Michael "Mike" Davis Brinkley and wife, Sue; her daughter, Debra "Debbie" Brinkley Chilton and husband, Rick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Bobby Ernest Davis and wife, Ann; her sister, Peggy Davis Ethridge; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Billy Webb and Rev. Tony Russ officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
