ROCKY MOUNT - Robert "Mikel" Anderson, age 50, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was born in Nash County on June 30, 1972. Mikel was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilkins "Mr. A." Anderson; his grandparents, Monroe Summerlin, Katherine Summerlin, Robert A. Anderson, and Ola W. Anderson; and his aunt, Joanna Lynn Keith.

Mikel is survived by his children, Robert Wesley Anderson, Samantha Joy Anderson, and Robert Dana Steeves (Katie Marie Sawyer); two grandchildren; his mother, Judith "Mrs. A." Anderson; his sister, Sandra Anderson Turner (Mike Cain) along with extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11 a.m in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. George Greer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
