RED OAK - William Robert "Bobby" Winfree, Sr., 77, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was born in Nash County on May 29, 1945 to parents, Matthew F. and Ruth Proctor Winfree. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by siblings, Tommy F. Winfree, Raymond K. Winfree, Helen W. Carrico, and Jimmy A. Winfree.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy F. Winfree; his children, William R. "Billy" Winfree, Jr. (Beth) of Garner and Amy E. Herbst (Scot); two grandchildren; sisters, Florence W. Gupton of Bettendorf, Iowa and Linda W. Boseman of Whitakers; brothers, Danny Winfree of Wendell and Gregory Winfree of Louisiana, along with nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash UNC Health Care, 2460 Curtis Ellis Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

A private memorial will take place at a later date.
