Lonnie "Jimmy" Ray Nelms, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born July 23, 1942 in Nash County. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris Faye Nelms; father Jim N. Nelms; brothers Ronald and John Nelms; grandchild, Amanda Williams, and a lifelong friend, John Riley.

He is survived by his mother Lettie B. Nelms; daughter Sandra Williams (Allen); two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

A visitation with family and friends will be Friday, January 13, 2023 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery.
