Ernestine Frazier Murray, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Born in Nash County on January 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Sanford Frazier and Fannie Pauline Parrish Frazier. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leroy Murray. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Ray Frazier.

Ernestine is survived by her son, Ernie Keith Murray, and wife, Becky; and her daughter, Vanessa Lee Murray Smith, and husband, Gary; three grandchildren; and by her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Glenn Thomas Frazier (Susan); sister-in-law and widow of Donald Ray, Evelyn Pittman Frazier; several dearly loved members of her extended family.

A funeral service to celebrate Ernestine's life will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Rev. Brandon Dees officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family and celebration of Ernestine's ninety-third birthday will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
