ROCKY MOUNT - Linda Ruffin Armstrong, age 79, passed away Monday afternoon, January 2, 2023, at Wake Medical Center. Born on January 9, 1943, in Rocky Mount, she was the daughter of the late Paul Raymond Ruffin, Sr. and Lula Mae McLemore Ruffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Jimmie G. Armstrong; and her four siblings, Betty Ruffin Salter, Paul Raymond Ruffin, Jr., Shirley Ruffin English, and Johnnie Mack Ruffin.

Survivors include her sons, Gray Armstrong and wife, Tina, of Garner and Steve Armstrong and wife, Amy, of Cary; five granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

A Funerial Service to celebrate Linda was held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 11:30 a.m at Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Nathan Whittman officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. A visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service in the Englewood United Methodist Church Sanctuary.
