ROCKY MOUNT - Ellie Ayscue Collins, age 84, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. Born in Vance County, on November 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Ayscue and Minerva Overton Ayscue. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 ½ years, Raymond Alton "Skeeter" Collins; her brothers, Fred Stanley Ayscue and Dr. Alfred Thomas Ayscue and wife, Hazel; and her niece, Lori Phillips.

Ellie is survived by her sons, Lennie Collins of Wilmington and Jeffrey Collins and wife, Patty, of Cape Carteret; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jeanne Ayscue; one nephew and two nieces.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at Dortches Baptist Church, 4776 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount. Entombment will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service in the Family Life Center of Dortches Baptist Church.
