ROCKY MOUNT - James Riley Moss, Jr., age 64, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Born in Wilson County on June 20, 1958, he was the son of the late James Riley Moss, Sr. and Agnus Carpenter Moss. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Austin and Claudine Carpenter; and his brother, Thomas Moss.

James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Tart Moss; his daughter, Elizabeth Woolard, of Farmville; his son, James Edward Moss, of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren; his brother, Davy Moss, of Charlotte.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will be from 7-8 p.m. following the service in the parlor of Johnson Funeral Home.
