ELM CITY - Hugh Daniel Oliver "Dan", 82, passed October 1, 2022. Dan was born August 25, 1940 in Rocky Mount to the late Mr. and Mrs. J D and Pennie Oliver. He was preceded in death by his brother JD (Buddy), and his sisters Katie Peed, Dora Robinson, Mary Oliver.

Dan is survived by his wife Mary Dickens Oliver of Elm City, one son Danny Oliver of Nashville and two daughters, Penny Serad of Nashville, and Deborah Moss of Rocky Mount, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Vera Strum and Laura Harris.

A visitation will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 with the service following at 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
