Phillip "Wayne" Hayes, 72, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born August 14, 1950 in Nash County to the late Floyd and Edna Batchelor Hayes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Hayes and a sister Tina Sullivan.

He is survived by his wife Mary of 50 years; his daughter Ashley Edwards-Sehgal and husband Rakesh; brother Floyd Hayes Jr. and wife Rosie; sister Linda Webb; one grandchild.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
