Mary Margaret Whitley Thorpe, 76, passed away August 10, 2022. She was born April 14, 1946 in Nash County to the late Wallie and Beaulah Whitley. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Thomas Walter Whitley and Wallace Reece Whitley.

Mary is survived by her husband of 31 years Paul Thorpe; son Oliver Bud Griffin (Sarah); daughters Mary Ann Baltazar (Luis), Emma Jean Griffin (Jay), Betsy Kirkwood (Daniel), Elizabeth Olds (Kenneth); eleven grandchildren; brother Ruffin Whitley and a sister Marie Goodson.

The visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. The service will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Red Oak Cemetery.
