ROCKY MOUNT - Lawrence "Larry" Vance Powell, age 83, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Born in Martin County, NC in 1938, he was the son of the late Vance Augustus Powell and Julia Frances Redd Powell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Powell.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kathleen "Kitty" Frances Loud Powell; his daughter, Laura Powell Lee and husband, Don; two grandchildren; his sisters, Vivian Locke of New Bern and Janet Hendrix of Hollywood, MD; one niece; four nephews.

A funeral service was held July 30, 2022 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial followed the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
