ROCKY MOUNT - JoAnne Hodgin Scalf, age 87, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Born in Guilford County on October 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jay Broughton Hodgin and Elizabeth White Cartland Hodgin. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald Lee "Coach" Scalf.

JoAnne is survived by her son, Ken Scalf and wife, Sue, of Marietta, GA; her daughter, Kay Scalf of Raleigh; two grandchildren.

Public visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church inside the Sugg Foyer of the Kincheloe Building, Rocky Mount.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in JoAnne's memory to Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to the Scalf Scholarship Fund at NC Wesleyan University, 3400 N. Wesleyan Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
