ROCKY MOUNT- Carl Thomas Cooley, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Born in Nash County on December 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Louis Thomas Cooley and Maggie Bissette Cooley. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Cooley; and three sisters, Retha, Lucy, and Tina.

Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years, Effie Lee Joyner Cooley; his daughter, Pamela C. Budd and husband, Tommy, of Fayetteville; his son, Allen Thomas, of Clayton; two grandchildren,; and his brother, Calvin Cooley.

A graveside service was held on Friday, June 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
