Fred Bennette Winstead, 82, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born December 19, 1939 in Nash County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Melton and Estelle Batchelor Winstead. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Kay Frances Lindsey and second wife Glenda Felton Winstead and a son, Stanley Winstead.

He is survived by three sons, Greg, Jeff (Liz) and Chris Winstead (Kim); four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
