SALEM COMMUNITY - Dwight C. Bennett, age 95, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022. Born in Nash County on December 31, 1926, he was the son of the late Sidney and Cassie Bennett and the youngest of 12 siblings. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mavis Bennett; his siblings, Leslie Bennett, Sidney Bennett, Mammie Taylor, Dick Bennett, Virginia Keehln, Henry Ford Bennett, Nancy Berrier, Jeannette Pittman, Fonto Bennett, Surine Stevenson, and Betsy Cole.

Dwight is survived by his sons, Pete Bennett and Mike Bennett and wife, Joy; his daughter, Eve Williams and husband, Mike; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held April 20, 2022 at Salem Community Baptist Church, Whitakers. Burial, Bennett Family Cemetery.
