ROCKY MOUNT - Charlotte Wood Spikes, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Born in Nash County on September 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Bennie Thomas Wood and Sallie Odell Baines Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Floyd "Tommy" Spikes; and her brother, Dewey Wilson Wood.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Todd Spikes of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Tamara Spikes Briley of Emerald Isle; three grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be prior to the graveside service on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home Rocky Mount.
