Joseph D. Howell, Sr., 77, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022. He was born May 10, 1944 to the late Ralph Sr. and Iva Skinner Howell of Rocky Mount. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandson Samual Gaston Howell.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Judith Narron Howell of Rocky Mount; two sons Joseph Howell Jr. of Rocky Mount, Steven Glenn Howell and wife Renee of Tarboro; daughter Lani Ann Howell of Rocky Mount; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; siblings Evelyn Price, Edith Gupton, Dan Howell and wife May, George Howell, Rev. Billy Howell and wife Mary Ann, Ralph Howell and wife Anne.

A funeral service was held April 4, 2022. Private burial.
