WHITAKERS - Peggy "Diane" Jordan Ayers, age 77, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Born in Nash County, on August 6, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Henry Addison Jordan and Myrtle Elizabeth Nelms Jordan. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James "Jim" Maurice Ayers; and her brothers, Franklin "Frankie" Dixon Jordan and James "Jimmy" Leon Jordan.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Pamela Flanagan and husband, Timothy; 4 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Edna Mae Jordan Starling and Patricia Ann Jordan Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
