WHITAKERS- Joyce Tisdale, age 68, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County on May 22, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Horace Hathaway and Cynthia Newsome Hathaway.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Tisdale; her son, Robert Tisdale, JR., of Whitakers; one grandson,; her sisters, Ann Webb, of Whitakers, and Cynthia Parent (Steve), of Winston-Salem; her brothers, Donald Hathaway (Joyce), of Raleigh, Wayne Hathaway (Karen), of Winston-Salem, and Buddy Hathaway (Betsie), of Rocky Mount; her Aunt Louise Leitch, of Richmond, VA; her close friends, John, Kimberly, Cameron, Megan and Thomas Bandy, all of Whitakers; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was February 6, 2022 in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome.
