Chester Kurt Stone passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born September 29, 1937 in Middlesex to Chester and Christine Stone.

Kurt was preceded in death by his father, his mother, his oldest brother, Ronald Stone and his younger brother Jerry Stone.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Lancaster Stone of the home; his sisters Ruth Brewer and Joyce Matthews of Middlesex; his brothers-in-law Henry Lancaster (Kay), and Joseph Lancaster (Carol); sisters-in-law Kaye Pope, Rhonda Whitley, and Deena Lancaster; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022. Visitation will be held from 5:30 -6:45 pm with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army of Nash, Edgecombe and Wilson located on 1000 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount. There will be no burial service for the public.

Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made to The Salvation Army of Nash, Edgecombe, and Wilson Counties in memory of Kurt Stone.
